While these are technically are "kites", 99% of people buy them to fly off a telescoping pole more like a windsock. We fly one of these at our store on the pier and not only does it keep the Seagulls off our roof, it scares the poop (literally) out of the pigeons. These are extremely durable, waterproof, tear resistant, and insanely cool! The Eagle is BIG, so consider the Osprey (my personal favorite) or Peregrine Falcon at a 44" wingspan (still a good size) if you're wanting something less expensive.
